Notes about Armor Inspections
All fighters: Once your armor has been inspected for any lyst, that inspection will be good for the rest of the weekend. This is the same policy as armor inspection at war.

Light Weapons Lysts:
Don Alain Memorial Tourney
Friends, as every one has heard by now we have lost Don Alain to cancer. With that in mind the unscarfed list is now the "Don Alain Memorial Lyst for unscarfed Fighters."
Any Authorized Fencer who is not a Don may enter this list. There is no longer any need to obtain a sponsor in order to fight. This list will stress the honor and good sportsman ship that Don Alain always believed in and I feel would have wished to see encouraged in his name sake list. Please if possible come out to honor our late friends memory by fighting or if you are not a fencer come out to cheer on the fencer of your choice. Please direct any questions about this to Don Mikael.
King's Musketeer Tourney
This Musketeer's tourney will be one of endurance and stamina in the form of a timed event where two (5 combatant) teams will face each other in capture the flag. The flags will be anchored with a pulley and weight. A blue with white triskele, vs White with blue triskele. The event will be a 10 min timed event, resurrection battle. There will be two stop watches running timing how long the teams have captured the flag. All holds will be general holds, 180 engagement rule just as we face at GW. The team that holds the flag the longest at the end of this tourney will be named our newest members of the Kings Musketeers.
To be Kings Musketeers you are not required to fight with the king at war, you are not required to attend war. You are however, greatly encouraged to assist others in becoming Kings Musketeers.
Once a Musketeer always a Musketeer, a team cannot consist of more than 3 Musketeers. Musketeers of a winning team will be awarded a triskele for the sleeve of their tabard for bragging rights as they assisted their comradss to become Musketeers. New Musketeers will be awarded a kings musketeer tabard to wear in pride, in lists, in musketeer tourneys or at war. A Kings Musketeer is not required to fight with the king at war, you are not required to attend war. You are however, greatly encouraged to assist others in becoming Kings Musketeers promoting rapier among other rapier enthusiasts.
Defender of the Queen's Heart Tourney
Double elimination tourney. Fighters will choose their opponents' style of fighting. Refights are done 1 time, then double kills stand. Knee walking is allowed. The finals will be best of 5, swiss style. At the point of the final, you can choose your own style.

Bear Pit Tourney
Saturday afternoon will see enough fighting for everyone with a Bear Pit Tourney. Come fight until you can't fight anymore!
Double Elimination Tourney
Sunday morning arm up in your finest heraldy and bring out your banners for a tournament dedicated to the honor and beauty of the Ladies of Trimaris. Each fighter is required to bear the token from their consort onto the field.
Melees!
Just returning from Pennsic? STILL haven't had enough fighting? Well, this is your lucky day!! On Sunday we will hold melees all afternoon! Prepare to fight until you drop!!

Troubadour Laureate Competition
Troubadour Laureate is solo original song and must be performed by the author. This competition does not require documentation, but the themes for the piece must be period or SCA related. Judging is based on performance and the piece performed.

Wake for Don Alain de le Vignerie
On Saturday night after feast at the Fire Circle we will honor and remember the life of Don Alain de le Vignerie. We do not gather to mourn his death, but rather to remember and celibrate the life he shared with us all. Come, raise a tankard and share your memories of this most honorable and noble man.

Handfasting of Lord Argyll MacTorcaille & Lady Gabriella the Midwife
The ceremony will be held at 8:00 pm on Sunday August 31st, down by the lake. It will immediately be followed by a reception for our family and friends at Vernon Hall.
Our love and thanks goes out to Baroness Jena who will be performing the ceremony, Mistress Navah who has graciously offered to provide some of her famous mead, and Lady Finnguala who will be cratering the reception with her wonderful food.

Starting a Fire the Viking Way
Master Thomas Wright of Lancaster
Cost: $5 (cover cost of fire startking kit) Class Limit: 10 students (others may observe)
Description: Learn basic fire starting techniques using a Viking style firestarter, a flint, char cloth and tinder. The class will also cover how to make char cloth. At the conclusion of the class, students will leave with basic fire starting kit including a starter, some flint and char cloth. Students will be playing with fire, so be prepared to secure long hair and loose clothing and possibly get a little dirty. Also clothing should be natural fiber (cotton, linen).
Note: No one under 18 without direct guardian supervision. NO EXCEPTIONS! Students may wish to bring their own chairs.
